Let’s be real…many of us adults STRUGGLE to cope with stress.
That’s why many of us are facing mental health challenges like #anxiety #depression and other stress disorders.
Yes, there are other factors that lead to mental health issues but top on the list, is a lack of well developed psychosocial skills.
Ensure your kids develop these skills from a young age and prevent mental health issues. PREVENTION is better than a cure.
At Siri, we use the 4 keys of Siri to train your kids to in psychosocial skills.
For example, to prevent issues with low self esteem which can lead to major mental health issues such as anxiety disorders, we (among other things) train kids to understand their personality.
It’s kind of like a SWOT analysis. “What do you love doing? What would you rather not do? What are you really good at vs what are you not so good at? What do you want to get really good at? Can you get really good at it? “
But rather than asking kids a bunch of open ended questions, we encourage introspection in other ways.
Activities, games, videos, learning a new skill – these are the ways we use to train kids in the 4 keys of Siri.
We then use the results from these learning sessions to guide your children t unlock their potential.
As a parent, you too can do your part to prevent mental health issues in your kids. Here are 3 simple pointers
1. Strike conversations with them – ask the questions.
2. Encourage them to journal. Keeping a journal has been proven as an effective tool for coping with emotions as well as gaining deeper self awareness.
3. Give them creative opportunities. Many times, when kids are learning a new skill, they are so afraid of failing, that they subconsciously don’t even want to try. As their parent, push them to try. Show them it’s okay to fail. Cooking a simple meal is a creative opportunity. Challenge them and then watch and see what sparks their joy.
