Is affirmative action needed for this now endangered species?
Something really good happened when the world, in Beijing, decided to affirm the girl child and accelerate her upward trajectory. The veracity of this decision was confirmed by the Nairobi Forward Looking Strategies, and with good reason. For centuries, women had been marginalized, the world over; sadly, they continue to be. The struggle for female emancipation is far from over.
That notwithstanding, the world must now open their eyes to the undesired consequence of the preoccupation with women: the putting out of the boy child’s candle to light that of the girl child.
At Siri, we are passionate about gender equality. Yep. I underlined that.
All children (and adults too), irrespective of gender, being allowed a chance to grow and glow. Equal opportunities to find their passion and grow their skill-set even in skills that are not traditionally associated with their gender. To Unlock That Potential!
This is one of the reasons why the Siri Curriculum and Methodology exist. Siri Education allows children to find their identity, grow in self love and learn how to accept and cope with tough emotions. Children, regardless of their gender, learn to express their ideas, ideate, come up with solutions, fail, and enjoy the process of failure as one other way it won’t work – Thomas Edison
